What is a B Corporation?
B Corporations are leaders of the global movement of people using business as a force for good. There are over 1,600 Certified B Corporations from more than 120 industries in nearly 50 countries with one unifying goal – to redefine success in business.
B Corps are important because they inspire all businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world. Certified B Corporations meet higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
The performance standards B Corps meet are comprehensive, transparent and verified. They measure a company’s impact on all its stakeholders, employees, suppliers, community, customers and the environment. B Corps are mandated to consider the impact of their decisions on all of their stakeholders.
Bob Desautels, NGC Chair recently commented;
“This is a tremendous achievement that truly validates the way we conduct business in all of our restaurants. The impact will be felt by all of our key stakeholders including our employees, suppliers, customers, the local community and the environment. There are only 13 restaurants worldwide that are Certified B Corporations, only 3 of which are in Canada. We have now added 4 more Canadian restaurants to this great cause and Canada can boast 7 in total giving us the highest number of B Corp restaurants in the world.”
